3: Payment in accordance with the policy
Claims due to death
- death certificate (Certificación literal de defunción).
- Birth certificate (Certificado literal de nacimiento) (photocopy of the insured's DNI / identification document ).
- Medical report from the doctor attending the insured, in which the origin, evolution and nature of the illness that led to death is detailed, or, as appropriate, the whole copy of the legal report or documentation detailing the accidental death, along with the autopsy report.
- original policy and last premium payment receipt.
- Certification from the Public Registry of Wills (Registro General de Actos de Última Voluntad) and, as appropriate, copy of the insured's last will and testament.
- Letter confirming payment of the relevant taxes, when this is legally required, or confirmation of liability or payment regarding inheritance tax (Impuesto sobre Sucesiones y Donaciones).
- Letter from the lending institution showing the pending amount of the mortgage or its cancellation by the insured at the time the claim was made.
Also, if both spouses die in the same accident have young children, the following documentation must also be produced:
- death certificate (Certificación literal de defunción) of the spouse.
- Family document (Libro de familia) which lists the members of the family.
