2.1 Risks not covered in either basic or optional cover

The following risks are specifically excluded both from basic cover of the policy and, optional cover (if contracted) for the policy.

a. Death by suicide cover is not covered by the insurer for the first year the contract is in force. After this period death by suicide is covered. If the policy is restarted or if the policyholder increases the sum insured for death cover, either as basic cover or in any of the options as optional cover, the same criteria will be followed, namely that:

- when cover is restarted, the insurer won't cover the risk of death due to suicide for the first year following cover being restarted

- when the sum insured is increased, the insurer won't cover the risk of death due to suicide, for the amount represented by the increase of the sum insured, for the first year following the date of the increase.

b. the risk of accidents in the air will always be covered as long as the insured flies only as a passenger on regular commercial airlines, charter flights, or. in general, on civilian airlines that have an authorised navegation certificate. In all of these cases the 'planes must be flown by people with a valid pilot's licence for the authorised 'plane. By the same token, claims are not covered for parachute jumps that are not due to situations due to the aeroplane, neither is bungee-jumping, delta wing, ultralight or similar flying machines.

c. claims due directly or indirectly to nuclear reactions or radiation or radioactive contamination, and those related to underwater navegation or exploration trips.

d. If the insured dies due to intentional action by the sole beneficiary, the insurer will not be held liable to his obligations regarding that beneficiary, and the sum insured will be added to the estate of the policyholder. If there are several beneficiaries, those not involved in the death of the insured will retain their rights.

e. claims that are considered to be extraordinary and those due to wars or similar operations or arising from political or social events.
